Keeping a Wrapped Car Clean?

Keeping a Wrapped Car Clean?

How do you take care of vinyl wrap? This is a question we are asked almost every single day! The answer is simple but can also be misconstrued if you do not have all the right info.

Daniel: "The first thing we tell people is, you have to keep it clean and you want to make sure dirt and debris doesn't get baked on by the sun". There's nothing worse than a wrap with layers of dirt and dust caked on top of it! Which happens quite a lot out in California. Vehicles can collect an entire layer of debris over night and that is the complete opposite of what you want on your wrap, no matter where you live.

Daniel: "Using the right products is the second step in taking care of vinyl wrap. We've created a full line of vehicle wrap detailing supplies, made in collaboration with Rev Automotive. The reason why we mention Rev, is because we want everyone to know that we don't want to pretend to be chemist, we didn't pretend to go into the laboratory and figure all this out ourselves. This was specifically catered and design for Premium from Rev Automotive who is in the auto detailing industry, and they are well known for creating great products, we recognized that and our collaboration was formed. These products have been long overdue and we think the industry needed this".

Today the team brought out their own cars to test out our new foam cannon while also getting to use our new Wrap Care Product Line.

If you're going to do a full wash for the first time you'll want to rinse the car off to get rid of any loose debris and then hit it with the Wrap Shampoo! Wrap Shampoo is made so you can use it in a foam cannon if you have one. (if you don't we're putting one up on our website if you want one) But it's okay if you don't because you can still do a normal bucket wash using this shampoo. Coat you're entire vehicle just like you would a normal wash and get to scrubbing, and then rinse.

To show Wrap Shampoo’s versatility we also washed John’s Focus ST which the body isn’t wrapped, but the roof is wrapped gloss black. This is something that seems to be a pretty common first step in the wrap world and we wanted to show even a simple roof wrap should be taken care of just as you would a full vehicle wrap. Best part is you can use Wrap Shampoo on your paint just like you would a normal wash.

If you're just doing normal upkeep and want to keep the dust or other airborne debris off your wrap on a daily basis. Wrap Quick Detailer is something the team have now started carrying in their cars all the time. This is what can use for just daily maintenance, and it does really good with dust, and makes it really easy to wipe down. John, "I can't say it made it darker but it brought out the vibrancy and...it's like a polished mirror...it's really good."

If you use this product consistently your wrap will look like it was just wrapped yesterday! During our wash day, the guys demonstrate that you can use it on a freshly washed roof wrap or an untouched dusty roof, and the difference is pretty eye opening. Which is more of a reason why we're all starting to keep this product in our own personal vehicles at all times. Christian, "I'm slightly biased because I use this all the time already, but I was skeptical at first...after I used it the first time I was pretty shocked, and I live in a pretty dusty area so honestly I need this stuff bad."

The Wrap APC (All Purpose Cleanser) is definitely what you want to use if you get heavy stains and debris on your wrap. Most commonly bird poop or exhaust soot. After use, follow it up with some quick detailer and your wrap will be good as new!

Again keeping your wrap clean is the most important step in taking care of your vinyl, the next step is using the right products.
